The very ecosystemic context in which we evolved is vanishing underneath us. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/science-environment-37775622\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More than half the world\u2019s wildlife<\/a> has vanished in forty years, and the worldwide insect population <a href=\"https:\/\/www.counterpunch.org\/2018\/03\/27\/insect-decimation-upstages-global-warming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has plummeted by as much as 90 percent<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2018\/mar\/26\/land-degradation-is-undermining-human-wellbeing-un-report-warns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fertile soil is vanishing<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.com\/environment\/global-warming\/deforestation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">so are forests<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/the-ocean-is-running-out-of-breath-scientists-warn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">oceans are choking to death<\/a>, 90 percent of global fish stocks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecowatch.com\/one-third-of-commercial-fish-stocks-fished-at-unsustainable-levels-1910593830.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">are either fully fished or overfished<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geochemicalperspectivesletters.org\/article1829\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">seas are full of microplastics<\/a>, and phytoplankton, an indispensable foundation of earth\u2019s food chain, have been <a href=\"https:\/\/psmag.com\/environment\/global-warming-is-putting-phytoplankton-in-danger\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">killed off by 40 percent<\/a> since 1950. Science <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@caityjohnstone\/some-thoughts-on-climate-change-b312f14c43bb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">keeps pouring in<\/a> showing that global warming is occurring faster than previously predicted, and there are <a href=\"https:\/\/guymcpherson.com\/climate-chaos\/self-reinforcing-feedback-loops-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-reinforcing warming effects<\/a> called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yaleclimateconnections.org\/2018\/02\/why-feedback-loops-are-troubling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">feedback loops<\/a>\u201d which, once set off, can continue warming the atmosphere further and further regardless of human behavior, causing more feedback loops.<\/cite><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Your Plans For Revolution Don\u2019t Work.
