Kruno Jošt was born 1973 in Zagreb. He studied at Art Academy Zagreb, Gerrit Rietveld Kunstakademie in Amsterdam and holds an MFA in new media arts at TransArt Institute. He lives in/at his last art project “Centre for Creative Solutions” in wilderness of Lika, Croatia.
His practice uses transdisciplinary strategies to organize mostly site specific works that question present systems. Collaborative and participatory works in new media and digital and analogue technology, DIY/DIWO/DITO aesthetics that he was using till 2015 now he applies to permacultural activities, using non-human species as collaborators.
Kruno Jošt is one of the founders of organization UKE in Krizevci (Culture and Education Association) with focus on international collaboration, cultural exchange and networking. UKE organizes international art meetings, artist in residence and other site specific events: Experimental Electronic Interventions (EEII) from 2004 to 2015 and Multimedia camp (MMKamp) since 2006.
