Kruno Jošt holds an MFA in new media arts at Transart Institute, awarded by Donau-Universitat Krems. Trough involvement in the wide range of artistic practices that span from personal to collaborative and participative works using transdisciplinary strategies, he is researching relationships between art and environment. He works in all applicable media to create a social sculpture, where emphasis is on non-conventional when embracing and initiating creative group efforts. His work is developed trough the networks of collaborators connected to open software and open hardware, free culture, open source and creative commons.

Jošt is acting through GenteJunk collective where, from 2006 he collaborates in many ongoing projects: an improvised, open, music and visual sessions in Impromondays (Croatia), Live Noise Tupi (Brasil) and Noise Wall (Croatia). He was one of the founders and editors of magazine for culture “04 - MegaZine for Reality Hacking”, one of the founders of Internet radio network “Free Radio: Station MIR” (FRSM), and is running GentleJunk NetLabel for non-conventional music and experimental sound art collaborations. 

Jošt initiated ongoing research on exchange in free and open culture between Brazil and Croatia. For two years Jošt was assisting on New Media Cross-Border project in Autonomous Centre, focusing on cross border exchange in transdisciplinary strategies and new media art between Croatia and Slovenia. During this period he was leading a group of 12 artists, activists and cultural workers trough series of workshops, events, exhibitions, conferences, study visits and performances. 

He collaboratively curated exhibitions and participated on group performances and artist interventions. Recent exhibits include IvisibleCities Gorizia, Museum of Contemporary Art Rijeka, ConcentArt gallery in Berlin, the Tehnical Museum in Zagreb, Futuresonic Fringe in Manchester, Liwoli in Linz, ArteMov festival in Salvador and Belo horizonte - Brazil, HAIP Ljubljana, Pure Data Convention in Sao Paulo, KIBLIX festival in Maribor and Pixelache in Helsinki. 

Jošt is one of the founders of organization Culture and Education Association  which is focusing on international collaboration, cultural exchange and networking in environmental art. He organizes international art meetings, residencies and festivals: Experimental Electronic Interventions (EEII) since 2004 and Multimedia Camp (MMK) since 2006.
